Just after my husband graduated from college, we decided to get a little dose of adventure. From January 2006 until October 2007, we lived in Guadalajara, Mexico. Since then, we returned to Minneapolis, spent some time working and making money, and then moved on to graduate school in Leiden, Netherlands. Notes on our current adventures in the Netherlands can be found on my other site, found at patriciamar.wordpress.com.
If you have ever spent a considerable period of time in Mexico, you know that the slow moving Mexican culture can grow on you. While it may take you five months to get a work visa, the friendly conversation that you have with the woman who runs your corner grocery store more than make up for it. Now that we are long gone from that life, the stories found here are my attempt to reconstruct and remember it. Whether you enjoy the tales or not, this will be my way of writing it all down for us. I’m sure eventually it will become more difficult and there will be more slipping away then what is remembered.
